Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant

Miles to Go, Promises to Keep

Credit: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

Set during the final years of the war in Afghanistan, anchored by standout performances from Dar Salim and Jake Gyllenhaal, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant balances action clichés (less successful) with suspenseful character drama (more successful).  Despite its flaws, a compelling film that speaks directly to the viewer’s sense of justice.
